Looking back: ACI at Retromobile 2010 Paris

ACI Stand Retromobile 2010

2010 brought another “first” – with the new brand image of ACI, we’ve been the first time visible to the audience on the Retromobile exhibition with a dedicated presence.

The ca. 10 sqm sized ACI booth had one of the visual highlights for this year on show: the “GS Drapeau”, a GS with flags from many countries painted on the outer body. This car came from Bordeaux and the owner was proud to show it off to the visitors at our stand.

Some of you might know that this car is a reproduction from the original limited series of GS (just a few dozens were created) made in 1971 to celebrate the international success of the middle-class volume model. For the ACI, it was the perfect combination of symbolizing both the worldwide reach of our organization, as well as presenting the anniversary model this year!

(For those of you who like to have your own ACI miniature car GS Drapeau: the web shop of the French Citroen miniature club Citromini.fr has stickers for sale which makes your GS model look alike the one on our stand…!)

It attracted many visitors and journalists to the offerings of ACI and also brought information about the upcoming Events Of The Year (Citroenstory, 2010 and 2CV World Meeting Salbris/France, 2011).

As a facilitator as well as being the co-promotor of the ACI Event Of The Year, the formal organisation of ACI was not in the limelight. The questions were rather mainly addressed to these upcoming exciting Citroen meetings to watch hundreds if not thousands of Citroen enthusiasts gathering.

Retromobile has also it’s own TV channel, “Retromobile TV”. And one of the first videos for 2010 is a short reportage from the Conservatoire and Denis Huille about the 40 years anniversary of GS/SM as well as the Osmose concept car from 2000:

Watch below also a few snapshots from the ACI booth. Enjoy!

PS: Next ACI (and EOTY) presence at Technoclassica, Essen, Germany: 7-11 April 2010.
