ACI Event Of The Year
One of the tasks of the Amicale Citroën Internationale is to evaluate international proposals for nomination of the “ACI Event Of The Year”.

This may be important meetings such as the ICCCR (International Citroën Car Clubs Rally) or 2CV World Meetings, or events related to models with important anniversaries, or other major activities which are attractive for international attendees.

Want to organize?

An ACI Event of the Year (“EOTY”) is the main ACI event in any given year and by definition is the single event that is selected to receive substantial funding from Automobiles Citroen in that year.

It is an irrefutable fact that some models are more plentiful than others and therefore have a much stronger following with greater event attendance, but ideally an EOTY should aim to embrace as many Citroen models as possible in order to appeal to the widest range of potential visitors.

It is the hope of the ACI Board that a natural balance will be maintained and, as long as a proposed event can be shown to meet the basic EOTY criteria the Board does not wish to impose additional eligibility criteria (or restrictions).

It should be noted that no specialist (e.g. single model) event will be precluded from consideration for EOTY status – especially if a special anniversary is to be celebrated – but, if successful, organisers will be expected to ensure the event will be of interest to the widest possible range of visitors.

Here’s How To:

Any group planning a suitable event may ask for it to be considered for EOTY status.

The final choice will be made by all the national delegates who will make their selection once all prospective organizers have presented their proposals to at least one ACI AGM.

There are 4 key stages to having an event selected as an EOTY:

Stage 1

Read the following three ACI documents – all can be downloaded using the links provided:

EOTY Guidelines
EOTY Application
EOTY Agreement

Stage 2

To avoid early disappointment please ensure your proposed event meets the basic EOTY requirements outlined in the “GUIDELINES” document.

  • Download and complete a copy of the “APPLICATION” document.
  • Send the completed “APPLICATION” with as much additional relevant information as possible to the ACI Board (board@amicale-citroen-internationale.org)

Note – The more appealing the information distributed to the delegates, the better the chances of an event becoming elected EOTY.

Stage 3

(Assuming Board acceptance of the application)

The ACI Board will supply 2 (hard) copies of the GUIDELINES. These documents should both be signed and returned immediately.

The ACI President will then sign both and return one for your records.

Prepare a presentation (approximately 10 minutes) which will be shown to Delegates at the next AGM.

Stage 4

Don’t simply wait for your event to be selected by a vote of all Delegates – keep them interested by informing the ACI of any developments – especially additional attractions.

Key to creating awareness is communications. This is also one of the key requirements along the preparation and execution of such an event.
