The 2CV World Meeting was elected ACI Event Of The Year by the ACI AGM in 2009.

Members of the Board of the ACI had the opportunity to visit Salbris and look over the site and meet with the organizers. Both were very impressive. The 70 hectare site was provided free of charge by the town of Salbris. It has some out buildings, space for all the the facilities plus thousands of campsites and space for expansion plus additional parking for visitors. Aerial photographs of the site allowed organizers to look to every detail from logistics to security and everything in between.

The really impressive part from the Board’s point of view was the organization With nine sub-groups all areas of the organization were covered from entertainment to food services. It was very obvious that the organizers were committed to holding the best event they possibly could. Congratulations to the Christian Courte and his group for what promises to be the highlight of the 2011 driving season for 2CV aficionados.

Invitation to AALTOPELTI-BLUES

RIPPLE-BLUES for 2CVs and HYs and derivates, all models welcome.

The event is based on friendly companionship, relaxed atmosphere and good music in a nice environment at a farm next to the huge lake of “Oulunjärvi”. One of the most popular 2CV events in Finland.

Dates: 9th-11th July 2010.

“Out of nowhere” location:
Onnelan maatilamatkailu (Onnela leisure farm), Vuolijoki (address: Salmenrannantie 62, Kajaani (Vuolijoki).
Get the stuff you need in advance, regular services are not next door. Petrol and shops at the village of Vuolijoki 15 km or city of Kajaani 60 km away. Map link at the end of this message.

PROGRAMME:
- Several bands on stage daily:
from jazz to rock&roll, and of course loads of blues. Dancing in the barn.

- Blues competition
- Special ripple gathering of 2CV vans and HYs
- Sauna in a van in the lake (another one in the main building)
- Visit to Lake Oulunjärvi (free ferry crossing) offers strange landscapes with sandy beaches

- 20 eur / adult, children 12-17 years 10 eur, younger ones free. Includes programme, sauna, camping etc.
- Limited amount of indoor accommodation available at additional cost (25 eur/bed/night) from the farm.

APUA-HELP 2010-2011
THE INTERNATIONAL 2CV ROAD SERVICE BOOKLET

Dear 2CV (DYANE, AMI, MEHARI…) friends all over the world.

Since 1975 the Finnish 2CV Guild has published the international 2CV Road Service Booklet APUA-HELP. It has become a world-wide list of 2CV friends and clubs – over 1000 helpers from 38 countries in last issue !

This is the easiest and safest way. If you can not get connected to internet, you can also send us the traditional paper form from here. If you have been in the booklet before, please note that old names will NOT go automatically in. Indicate the type of help you are willing to give (abcde-classification). You can be a driver or fan of any Citroen A-model or even an H-model. Tips on local 2CV repair & spares shops, special expertise, touristic information, accommodation etc. are welcome, too. To ensure inclusion, please register before 28th February 2010.

The people included should be willing to help and meet fellow 2CV friends in “true 2CV spirit”. The help is given on a volunteer basis. We hope also those needing help would always respect these basic principles !

The inclusion is free, but if you would like to receive a copy of APUA-HELP, please send us 5 euros in cash in a letter use international banking (details below). Special club prices will be offered for bigger amounts ordered in advance, please ask.

The 19th World Meeting of 2 CV friends will happen from 26 – 31 July 2011 in the heart of France at Salbris. The organizers expect exciting figures: 4000 to 5000 cars, between 8000 to 11000 participants.

The budget and organization complexity most likely beats all events so far – more than 300 volunteers will help the organizers to manage this World Meeting of Deuche lovers!

With 13-Apr-2007, all Delegates are asked to spread the Event info to the clubs for decision-taking which “Event Of The Year 2009″ is to be chosen from the 3 applicants: EuroCitro (Le Mans/F), 2CV World Meeting (Czech) or 75 Years of Traction Avant (Arras/F). The reply must be responded back to the ACI Board within 2 months time by the Delegates, i.e. latest until 15-June 2007.
