Henri-Jacques Citroën, one of the grandsons of the company founder André Citroën, has relayed the following message to us and the ICCCR organizers resp. all ICCCR participants which we’d like to forward to you:

“…Dear fans of the Citroën cars, dear friends coming from so many places :

On behalf of the Citroën family, I have the pleasure of sending you this message.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to joint you in this historic place of Middachten, located in a dear country: The Netherlands, where our family originally comes from.

As a grandson of André Citroën, I am always impressed by your international mass meetings which confirm that you belong to an original party, the Citroën party. Obviously, it is not a political party but the friendly gathering of passionate collectors, of lovers of outstanding shapes and technologies created since 1919, of admirers of André Citroën’s life and achievements.

The exhibition of your beautiful cars, so carefully and lovingly maintained, is definitely a large-scale outdoors living museum!

This ICCCR meeting is the last one before an important anniversary: the 100th year of the Citroën company. As a matter of fact, in 3 years from now, we shall celebrate the transformation, by my grandfather, of his plant producing shells for the French Army into the famous car making facility located in Quai de Javel, by the Seine river in Paris.

The promoters of the anniversary celebrations who certainly know the history of André Citroën and the 16 years he spent managing his company, leading a remarkable staff of inventors and collaborators, developing a philosophy of a permanent search for better and original technologies, creating the basis of modern marketing, will have quite a number of feats, inventions and realizations to show to the world.

Enjoy this ICCCR meeting and keep high, as always, the banner of the Citroën name, of the Citroën philosophy!

HJC…”
